Little is known about the “The Outlaws” a 1924 Tacoma women’s basketball team with great skills and very cool shoes. They were all students at Lincoln High School but played their own independent games against local teams like the “Holy Terrors” who they beat 20 to 14 on January 22, 1924. From L-R are: Edrice Davis, Grace Moore, Edith Churchman, Myrtle Upton, Mildred Hintze, Doris Krell and Bobby Krell. The picture was made by Marvin Boland on January 11, 1924, a changing time for young women in the Pacific Northwest with short haircuts, drivers licences , the vote and team names like Outlaw.
